I only ever had this one flower to paint from.
I had planted several dahlia plants of various levels of complexity, thinking they would be useful in a planned workshop. This dahlia was the most complex of them all and particularly beautiful. But just before the workshop we had an unexpected early frost, the plant died giving no more flowers.
Luckily, I had started painting this one flower and whereas I usually had several to refer to once the petals started deteriorating, I didn’t have any more.
As with other complex flowers, the only way to paint them is by having knowledge about the Fibonacci spiral and applying this knowledge during the painting process.
