This is my favourite flower. I got to know it whilst living in Norway many years ago. It isn’t found naturally in the UK.
Blåveis[bl-or-vays] grows in deciduous woods, more commonly on the east coast of Norway. It peeks up from the melting snow, dotting the ground with patches of intense blue. Later on as the leaves come on the trees the plants are protected from the glare of the sun on the forest floor, growing on in dappled shade.
