Magnolia x soulangeana: Ripe fruit and seeds.
I used the same fruit from my tree in the garden for each stage of the fruit development, The red of the fruitlets looked delicious and it was just this stage the birds in the garden waited for. As the fruitlet matured, it became suspended from a fine thread and dangled enticingly in the breeze.
