Magnolia x soulangeana: Flower dissection. Watercolour and graphite on hot pressed paper.

Having dissected the Fruit, I decided I had to do the same thing for the flower.

With any luck you will see the the similarity in the aggregate fruit as with the reproductive parts in the flower.
You can see the Fibonacci spiral of the fruit, but also see clearly the same pattern with the pink immature stamens (the flower hanging open) surrounding the green female part with pistils ready to receive the pollen.
