Bear’s britches, has very spiky flower spikes. But as the spikes age, they get harder, but remain very attractive. The Acanthus leaves are often seen in Greek and Roman patterns.
I thoroughly enjoyed doing this picture once I had worked out the composition. But ended up with quite a few plasters on my fingers to avoid blood getting on my paper!
